A conversion engine for solar. From brochure site to a sales channel that works around the clock

Solelexperten

About the client

Solelexperten installs solar systems for a wide audience. There’s the homeowner who wants to lower their electricity bill, the housing co-op investing on behalf of its members, the farm with vast roof surfaces, and the company taking a strategic step toward renewable energy.

Whatever the customer type, the process is fundamentally the same. The customer needs advice, an assessment of their property, and a quote tailored to their specific conditions. That’s where the website plays a central role. It is often the first contact between customer and company, and it determines whether an interested visitor turns into a real conversation about a project.

When Solelexperten reached out to Galea design, they already had a well-established business and a strong position in their industry. What was missing was a digital presence that matched the level of ambition. The goal was clear: the site needed to go from being a digital brochure to being a sales channel that works around the clock.

The challenge

The existing site held back growth in several ways. The problems weren’t cosmetic — they sat in the underlying structure and in how visitors were guided through the content.

The site wasn’t mobile-optimized. The majority of visitors come from Google and click through on their phones. When a page is hard to read, has tiny buttons and a layout that breaks on small screens, visitors bounce immediately. That’s a direct revenue loss every day.

Load times were also slow. A slow first render hurts both SEO and conversion. Google penalizes sites that take time to become interactive, and visitors leave before the content has even rendered.

The CTA was unclear. There was no obvious next step for someone who wanted a quote or advice. Visitors had to hunt for contact paths themselves, which in practice means most never get in touch.

Taken together, the site functioned more like a digital brochure than a commercial platform. It communicated what the company did, but didn’t help the visitor move forward or help the sales team get more qualified inquiries.

The solution

We rebuilt Solelexperten.se from the ground up with a clear focus. Every technical and design decision had to lead to one of three goals: faster loading, a clearer path to a quote, or less manual work for the sales team.

The frontend is built in Next.js with App Router and hosted on Vercel’s global CDN. Pages are statically rendered where possible, and ISR (Incremental Static Regeneration) lets content update in the background without affecting the visitor experience. The result is that every page is delivered almost instantly, no matter where in the world the visitor is.

Content lives in Sanity CMS. That means Solelexperten can update copy, images, news and offers themselves without contacting a developer. Live preview in Sanity Studio lets the editor see exactly how a change will look before it’s published.

Conversion is the center of the entire site. A clear primary CTA — "Get advice" — follows the visitor through the experience. Instead of a daunting long form, the visitor is led through a three-step flow that feels easy to start and just as easy to finish.

The form is smart. Fields adapt depending on whether the visitor is a homeowner, housing co-op, farm or business — so the sales team gets the right information up front. The customer can also upload photos of their property, letting the sales team make an initial assessment without a first site visit.

Lead handling is fully automated. When a form is submitted, the customer gets a confirmation via Resend, sent from a custom domain to stay out of spam. The same inquiry goes automatically to the sales team as an email and is created at the same time as a card on their Trello board, ready to be picked up.

Newsletter subscribers are synced directly to Brevo, so the marketing team can build on the relationship without manual work. The entire chain from first click to CRM happens without anyone copying data between systems.

The site has been built with security and compliance baked in from day one. GDPR consent is handled transparently, the privacy policy and security.txt are in place, and a full set of security headers (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options and more) protect against common attack paths. All user input is HTML-escaped in email templates, and rate limiting stops spam before it reaches the sales team.

The results

Solelexperten has gone from a passive brochure site to an active sales channel that works around the clock. The difference shows up in the numbers and in the team’s daily work.

The site is fully mobile-optimized. The mobile experience is as considered as desktop, which matters when most visitors arrive via mobile search. Mobile bounce rate has dropped significantly.

Load time is essentially instant. Static rendering combined with the CDN means the visitor gets the first content in a fraction of a second, regardless of location. That impacts both conversion and Google’s assessment of the site.

Solelexperten ranks high on Google for several of the solar industry’s most important keywords. The technical foundation, together with structured data and clean semantic HTML, lets the site perform in classic search and in the new AI-driven search engines.

The lead chain is automated from form to CRM. That means the sales team can focus on calling back and closing deals, instead of administering inquiries manually. No inquiry gets lost along the way.

The customer can update everything themselves through Sanity Studio. New offers, adjusted prices or updated copy are published whenever, without a developer involved. That lets the site move at the pace of the business instead of becoming a bottleneck.

The result is a digital platform that actually works for Solelexperten. It meets the visitor in the right way, leads them toward a clear next step, and delivers warm leads directly to the sales team. A brochure became a sales channel.
